born in Innsbruck in 1974, works with the media of painting, collage, photography, installation and analogue as well as digital printmaking. Inspired, amongst others, by sociopolitical, philosophical or scientific topics, she derives certain aspects thereof and transfers them to her artistic field. The creative process often becomes independent and adheres to the central theme only on a loose level. As a result, a “field of narration” is produced, which allows for more than just a rigid adherence to the starting point. Basically, it is the hardly describable place between dissolution and solidification that Heidi Holleis deals with in her work. These “transfers” begin with reflections on the “language of the material” as well as with the question of the material compositions, which make up an important approach in Holleis’ artistic practice.
